      Music Teacher, Professional
      Location: Littleton, CO

      Instructs: Cello
Education: Bachelor's of Music in Cello Performance, Vanderbilt University
Performance Experience: St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra; Blair School of Music Orchestra; freelance musician
Teaching Experience: I have taught private cello lessons for about 2-3 years.
Teaching Philosophy: I like to talk to students about the sort of music they are interested in playing, since some students learn best at first with familiar music. Every student is a little different, so I try to get a feel for their personality.

      Get to know Rachel Diefenbacher

Rachel has been playing the cello since age 9, when she began with her school music program. Growing up in St. Louis, she also attended the St. Louis Symphony Community Music School, and received a bachelor's degree in Cello Performance from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University. In addition to teaching, she also enjoys playing Celtic music and other types of traditional music, and is interested in the therapeutic uses of music. She has studied methods such as the Alexander Technique that help musicians to be comfortable in their own skin while playing and avoid injury. She hopes her students will enjoy playing from the start!
