Get to know Richard Thurston
Rick Thurston teaches beginner to advanced piano, creating structured, personalized lessons that balance strong technique with fun and musical expression. His instruction explores classical, blues, jazz, rock, country, and other styles while developing improvisation, sight-reading, ear training, theory, form, and technique. Rick celebrates every step of progress and adapts lessons to each student’s personality, abilities, and goals. He helps students prepare for recitals, auditions, church performances, ensembles, bands, and accompanying others. Rick holds an Associate of Arts in Music, studied piano and voice in college, and brings over five years of teaching experience.
