      Get to know Rick Hawkins

I started playing percussion in elementary school and played in the school bands through high school and college.

I did not major in music but performed in all the percussion sections as I earned my BA in psychology. After college I joined a rock/jazz/new wave and pop band.

After a career in retail and wholesale and playing in a variety bands around Augusta GA, I went back to school and earned my BS in Occupational Therapy, focused mostly in pediatrics.

A parent of one of my former clients asked me if I could teach her son drums. A new career was born!

I have been teaching for 15 years.
