Performance Experience: I sat 1st chair on trombone through out school and into college. I made honor band and all state bands in high school. I also played with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra where we played in Carnegie Hall. In college, I played for the National Wind Ensemble in Carnegie Hall, played in the top bands at Kennesaw State including the jazz band. I also got to perform open mic jazz jams with Joe Grandson. I also did a year of drum corps marching with Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps.

Teaching Experience: I did my student teaching at North Cobb High School. I taught private lessons at Ponier Music, Ken Stanton music and at the various high schools. I taught marching band at Creekview High School, Roswell High School, and Carrolton High School,

Teaching Philosophy: I believe in having a passion for what you are doing. That passion coupled with a solid practice regiment will allow you to explore everything you need in order to explore the world of music and art.

Get to know Robert Hays

Growing up, I was always around music. From my parents playing the radio, to my introduction to band. I started playing trombone in 4th grade around the age 8. I loved music and decided to continue music through out my life. I got my bachelors degree in Music Education from Kennesaw State University. I have been teaching and playing music during college and even after after college in church bands, playing open mics, and as a hired gig musician. All of this playing encompasses about 30 years of playing and 15 years of teaching. I had the extreme pleasure of playing in Carnegie Hall 2 times in my life. I have taught many school bands and marching bands over the years. I look forward to sharing my love for music with your child and carry on the legacy.
