Teaching Experience: Provided lessons to 7th grade student when in high school. Received professional teaching lessons from Sir Johnathan Snowden at Shenandoah Conservatory. Able to instruct beginner to advanced level students.

Teaching Philosophy: My goal is to ensure that my students are having fun and are comfortable as they progress towards their personal goals at their preferred pace. I not only want to guide them during their lessons, but to give them tools that will help them practice more effectively at home and encourage them to problem-solve. Learning and improving at an instrument can be a very rewarding experience, especially when the student's personal tastes, learning styles, and personal goals are prioritized.

Rose Discenza is a flute and piccolo teacher who works with beginner to advanced students in a supportive and detail-oriented environment. Her lessons focus on building strong fundamentals through rhythm exercises, music theory, tone development, posture, and technique while ensuring students feel encouraged and never overwhelmed. Rose personalizes lessons to each student’s goals and learning pace, helping them develop effective practice habits and confidence along the way. Whether preparing for auditions, school band placements, recitals, or personal growth, students are guided with patience and positivity. Rose holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Performance Arts Leadership and Management.
