Sam Koff is a trumpet, trombone, baritone, and tuba teacher who works with beginner to advanced students, combining strong musical fundamentals with creativity, collaboration, and fun. His lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and learning style, blending technique, ear training, improvisation, music theory, and repertoire with music that genuinely inspires them. Sam teaches a wide range of styles including jazz, funk, brass band music, hip-hop, indie rock, pop, and other improvisation-based genres, encouraging students to explore their own musical voice through performance, composition, arranging, and recording. Whether preparing for auditions, recitals, school ensembles, live performances, or simply playing for enjoyment, students are supported in a positive and high-energy environment that promotes confidence and steady growth. Sam holds a degree in Music Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University and brings extensive experience as a performer, producer, composer, and collaborator across many musical styles.
