About Sarah Dooley
Get to know Sarah Dooley
I started learning
music at the age of 10 when I began playing the trumpet in band. A year later, I
switched to the French horn and continued playing in band throughout middle
school, high school, and college. Growing up in Albuquerque, I had the
opportunity to participate in the Albuquerque Youth Symphony and the New Mexico
Music Educators Association All State bands and orchestras. I have also been
playing the guitar for nine years and the piano for six years. I enjoy expanding
my musical horizons and over the years I have also learned how to play the
cello and the ukulele and I have most recently been teaching myself the
harmonica. I graduated from Harding University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in music.
I have been
teaching private lessons for five years. I have taught piano, guitar, ukulele,
and French horn. I am classically trained but I also enjoy teaching pop songs,
songs from musicals, and whatever else my students are wanting to learn. I believe
it is important for my students to be confident in their knowledge of music and
their ability to play their instrument. It is my goal for my students to have
confidence in their abilities and to enjoy playing music.
