About Savannah Mueller
Get to know Savannah Mueller
Savannah Mueller has been playing the violin for over 15 years and has been a passionate
advocate for music education from a young age. Savannah received her BA in both Music and
Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania (‘23), where she studied violin with Adela
Peña. She was an active member of the University of Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra on the
viola, in addition to holding the position of Orchestra Manager and Librarian, and still performs
with them as an alumni.
As a product of both the Philadelphia School District and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s
music programs, Savannah has worked in and around music education spaces in the
Philadelphia area since 2019. During her time at Penn, she coordinated and participated in the
Music and Social Change Program - a volunteer program that supports both general and
instrumental music classes at public schools in the University City and West Philadelphia area.
Since 2022, Savannah has worked as a Teaching Artist with Play on Philly, providing group
violin lessons to students in West Philly during the school year, as well as during their Summer
Program at Temple University. She enjoys working with students of all ages and her goal as a
teacher is to aid students in exploring their own creativity, discovering joy in music-making, and
creating something they can feel proud of. Her favorite parts of teaching are learning from her
students, getting to know who they are, and watching them grow not only as musicians, but as
people
