About Savannah Schaumburg
Get to know Savannah Schaumburg
Savannah is a seasoned horn player with nearly 16 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Puget Sound and a Master's in Horn Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. Savannah has showcased her musical talents in ensembles throughout the Seattle/Tacoma area while excelling as a teacher in both private and classroom settings.
During her pursuit of a Master's degree in Pittsburgh, Savannah served as a Research Assistant and Music Mentor for Project Unmute, an intergenerational music program benefiting older adults with cognitive decline. In this role, she played a key part in developing and executing engaging music lessons and mentoring adolescent musicians as they created their own lessons for the program. This project resulted in the publication "Project Unmute: A Digital Music Program Delivered by Adolescent Musicians to Older Adults with Cognitive Decline," where Savannah is a featured author. Her passion for music and community is evident in her dynamic teaching approach. Studying with Savannah promises not only educational enrichment but also an engaging and enjoyable musical experience.
