      Get to know Sean Gibson

My name is Sean Gibson, and I began playing music at the age of ten, starting with the drum kit and guitar before adding mandolin, electric bass, ukulele, viola, cello, lute, and others to the list over time. I have performed music for nearly a decade in many different ensembles and capacities, including in guitar ensembles, quartets, and trios, rock bands, string ensembles, choirs and choruses,
orchestras, jazz combos, and Renaissance ensembles. As a music major at Cal Poly Pomona I have studied guitar with Philip Graulty, Executive Director and President of the classical chamber ensemble Bridge to Everywhere and founding member of the electric guitar octet L. A. Electric 8, and Dr. Peter Yates, former chair of the CPP music department and founding member of the chamber ensembles GuitAria and Ensemble FRET.
