About Shelley Martinsen

I am a graduate of The Brooklyn, New York Conservatory Of Music. I have a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Voice Technique and Performance and a Masters Degree in Voice and Speech Communications. After graduating from The Conservatory Of Music, I proceeded to study (for 6 years) with the renowned Vocal Artist, Marni Nixon. Because of my love and passion for singing and performing, I have dedicated my life to teaching others how to find their own beautiful voices… unique to them. My goal is to provide you, as my student, with a solid vocal technique... .the technique of Bel Canto Singing (Beautiful Singing)... focusing on Voice Control, Voice Placement and Breath Support. Our lessons will teach you to visualize a solid column of air, starting from your Diaphragm, and extending up to your throat, atop which your voice is perched. Throughout my life, I have performed in countless Musical Theatre Productions in New York, California, Hawaii and Las Vegas, Nevada…. including 7 years of performing on The Las Vegas Strip as a featured Soprano at The Venetian and Paris Las Vegas Hotels. For the last 20 years I have been performing with The Nevada Opera Theatre as well.
