Get to know Simon Phillips
Simon has been teaching here since 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Throughout his education Simon studied guitar with Corey Blake, John Patykula and Larry Snitzler.
Simon’s performing experience includes playing in rock bands, classical music ensembles and solo classical guitar.
Simon teaches rock, blues, folk, classical and Spanish guitar at all ages and levels. He works with the student to create a suitable and fun method of learning guitar. If the student is not sure what style of playing they are interested in, he teaches the basics and from there introduces different genres and styles of music and technique.
Simon teaches Monday through Saturday.
