Teaching Philosophy:
Students are taught to read music, and different aspects are focused on, such as music theory, piano technique, and performing in front of other students. If a student can play historical music for their instrument, they can easily play whatever style they like.
Get to know Stefanie
Stefanie Batson-Martin teaches beginner to advanced piano, flute, piccolo, and music theory, tailoring lessons to each student’s interests and goals. Her encouraging lessons combine technique, sight-reading, theory, scales, arpeggios, and motivating repertoire while making room for music students simply enjoy playing. Stefanie teaches many styles, with particular strengths in classical music, rhythm, sight-reading, and flute accompaniment skills. She helps students prepare for recitals, Federation events, Student Day, All-State auditions, and competitions while building confidence. Stefanie holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance, has taught since 2011, and is pursuing a Master’s in Piano Performance.
