About Stephanie Hawkins

Education: Stephanie has studied Music at the University of Washington and at South Seattle Community College.

Performance Experience: Stephanie has played in ensembles of all genres: jazz, rock, classical, calypso. She has also been a church/wedding/funeral organist/pianist for nearly 20 years.

Teaching Experience: Stephanie has nearly 25 years of teaching experience in the Puget Sound area.

Teaching Philosophy: Stephanie is happy to teach students of all ages, including very young children and grown-ups. She strives to find music that each student will enjoy, and to help each student play with expression and feeling. As students progress, she aims for a comprehensive learning plan to thoroughly cover all aspects of music, according to the interests of each student - which could include Theory, History, Composition, and experience playing in multiple styles.
