About Stephen Klingman

Get to know Stephen Klingman
I have been a musician since childhood. At age seven I played viola in the school orchestra for seven years, including a performance at Carnegie hall in New York. At age ten I began to play guitar, starting with blues and rock. In high school I studied jazz and performed with the school jazz combo. In 2017 I became a full time performer and began learning about studio recording. Since then I have performed at venues throughout the triangle including The Cat's Cradle, The Pour House, The Pinhook, Imurj, Kings, Neptunes, Shakori Hills music festival, The NC Museum of History, The Governer's Club, and many others. I have toured domestically and internationally. I have recorded studio tracks for several local artists and am a part-time studio recording artist. I also write and record my own original music.
Music is not just my full-time career, it is my passion and my window to the world. I interpret everything through the filter of music. I hope to inspire my students to become the next generation of great musicians, to develop their creativity and expression to the fullest potential, and ultimately to help them introduce their own unique style to the wonderful world of music.
