Performance Experience: Guitarist with artists of many genres: Jimmy Webb, Charlie Daniels, Dave Valentin, Jeff Lorber, Carl Fischer, Run DMC, Randy Brecker, Bernard Purdie, Eric Marienthal, Tommy Bowes, Bill Heller, Paula Atherton, Long Island Music Hall of Fame All-Star Band. Also, several years working with pop, R&B, jazz, funk, & blues cover bands in NY.
Teaching Experience: College music professor and department chair at Five Towns College in NY. Taught guitar instruction, guitar ensemble, arranging, songwriting, big band jazz ensemble, pop music ensemble, music theory, ear training, music composition lessons. Private lesson teacher for more than 25 years.
Teaching Philosophy: For guitar students, I stress the great importance of reading music, and at the same time help them improve their skills regarding playing various types of songs correctly.

Steve has just recently moved to Columbia after many years in NY as a guitarist/composer/professor in many styles of music. He has worked with Jimmy Webb, Charlie Daniels, Randy Brecker, Dave Valentin, Run-DMC, trumpeter Carl Fischer, Eric Marienthal, Jeff Lorber, and several others. Steve is the author of "Jazz Guitar Lines of the Greats", published by Jamey Aebersold Jazz, and has several jazz ensemble compositions published with CL Barnhouse. "I'm so glad to be here, and I'm looking forward to meeting the musicians and students (at all levels) in Columbia!".
