      Performance Experience: Played with Various Symphonies and Big Bands in the DC area. I've played at Venues such as the Kennedy Center and Blues Alley. I also participated in Rockin 1000 in Frankfurt Germany in 2019.

      Get to know Steven Bectel

      Steven Bectel helps students build strong fundamentals while developing confidence and musical enjoyment. He teaches advanced tenor and bass trombone, tuba, and euphonium, as well as intermediate trumpet, tailoring lessons to each student’s individual goals and interests. Steven also teaches instrument maintenance, cleaning, and small repairs. Lessons combine warmups, brass fundamentals, technique, and musical application through classical and jazz repertoire, improvisation, chamber music, sight reading, and music theory. Steven encourages students to bring in music they enjoy and believes growth comes from balancing technical discipline with genuine passion for music. Steven is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Trombone Performance at George Mason University and performs regularly as a freelance musician throughout the DMV area.
