About Steven Wong

Steven has been playing guitar since age 11 and he began teaching at the age of 16. He graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2018 with degrees in Classical Guitar Performance and Sound Recording Technology. During this time, he studied under renowned guitarist, composer and educator James Piorkowski and he was a member of the Fredonia Guitar Quartet. Steven has also performed in master classes with Leo Brouwer, Ana Vidovic, Paul Galbraith, Duo Scarlatti and many more. During his college years, Steven was also chosen to participate in several national and international competitions including the Philadelphia Guitar Competition and the Montreal International Gutiar Competition.

While Steven considers the classical style his specialty, he also has a breadth of experience teaching blues, rock, folk, R&B and pop music. He teaches classical guitar, electric guitar, steel string acoustic, ukulele, banjo and bass.
