Performance Experience: Susan has performed with the Victorian Lyric Opera, Potomac Valley Opera, National Opera League, Friday Morning Music Club, National Cathedral, and she is presently the soprano soloist, section leader, rehearsal assistant at St. Patrick’s Episcopal in Washington, D.C.

Get to know Susan Carter

Susan is thrilled to be joining Music & Arts to teach Piano and Voice at the Bowie location. After graduating from The College of New Jersey with a Degree in Music Education, Susan moved to the DMV to pursue her love of teaching and performing. She joined The Lab School of Washington as a fulltime music teacher and recently retired after 28 amazing years of working with students with learning differences. While teaching, Susan continued to pursue her love of singing by performing lead and chorus roles with Victorian Lyric Opera, Potomac Valley Opera, National Opera League, Friday Morning Music Club, National Cathedral, and she is presently the soprano soloist, section leader, rehearsal assistant at St. Patrick’s Episcopal in Washington, D.C. Susan is happily married with 2 adult children and her son is a jazz saxophonist in Richmond, VA continuing in the family love of performing.
