Get to know Taimoor Saeedi
Taimoor Saeedi has been teaching guitar for over 27 years and currently is an adjunct professor of jazz guitar and director of the jazz ensemble at Northern Virginia Community College. As a full-time musician, Taimoor has performed at top venues such as Joseph Meyerhoff Hall, Strathmore Hall, the Smithsonian Arts Museum and Blues Alley. With over 22 years of experience as a bandleader, his performances have ranged from corporate functions and weddings to a wide variety of private events. His latest project features a collection of arrangements of traditional Middle Eastern music for jazz quartet. In 2009, he released an album of original compositions written for jazz trio and quintet and he also recorded a solo guitar album highlighting works by Latin American composers. In addition, he has performed as a session player on recordings by other artists.
