Get to know Teresa
I'm a passionate and enthusiastic instructor, who loves working with students of all ages and skill levels. In 2016 I moved to Boston to pursue a Performance Diploma at Boston University and went on to complete a Master’s in Viola Performance at the same institution. During my studies at BU I worked as a teaching assistant with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, where I assisted the conductor during rehearsal and mentored the younger string players. Before moving to Boston I lived in north Texas and taught private lessons in the Lewisville Independent School District while free-lancing extensively in both the Dallas area and some of the surrounding states. I have performed with many ensembles including the Fort Smith Symphony, the Dallas Chamber Orchestra, and the Odysseus Chamber Orchestra. In 2019 I played in the Ohio Light Opera Orchestra, presenting over fifty performances in an eight week season. Before that I participated in the Brevard Music Festival, the Hot Springs Music Festival, and the Castleton Festival. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from and work with amazing musicians, who continually inspire me and remind me why I chose to be a musician. For me teaching is an opportunity to combine my passion for music with my love of problem solving in order to help students define and achieve their goals. I am excited to be teaching at Music and Arts this year and look forward to building a dynamic and diverse studio!
