Get to know Tess Coltvet
Tess Coltvet is a clarinetist getting her Masters in clarinet performance from the University of Maryland studying under Robert DiLutis. At UMD, she plays with both the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra. Tess attended the University of Kansas for her undergraduate degree in clarinet performance, where she played in the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and played in many chamber music groups such as a woodwind quintet and a reed quintet. She has attended many summer festivals such as the Imani Winds Summer Music Festival, the Sewanee Summer Music Fesitval, and the Buffet Crampon Summer Clarinet Academy.
Tess has been teaching for several years with students ranging in skill from beginner to college level. She uses what she has learned from her teachers in her degrees to her give students a solid fundamental foundation, have a high level of musicality, and also have fun!
