About Tevante Swanston

Tevante Swanston is a passionate music educator and multi-instrumentalist with over 12 years of teaching experience, specializing in trumpet and brass while also teaching trombone, euphonium, French horn, tuba, saxophone, clarinet, flute, and beginning piano. A graduate of Norfolk State University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Tevante has performed in productions of The Wiz and The Color Purple and has opened for jazz legends Wynton Marsalis, Arturo Sandoval, and Jon Faddis at the Reichhold Center for the Arts in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. His teaching experience spans private lessons, concert bands, ensembles, and classroom music, including working with neurodiverse learners and students on the autism spectrum. Tevante believes every student can become a confident musician when lessons are encouraging, engaging, and tailored to the way they learn best, with a focus on building strong fundamentals, musical independence, and a lifelong love of music.
