      Get to know Thabie Melvin

      Thabie Melvin is a piano teacher who works with beginners, returning students, and early advanced players in a supportive and goal-focused environment. His lessons combine strong classical foundations with engaging repertoire that reflects each student’s personal interests, helping students build confidence while developing technique and musical understanding. Thabie also teaches students how to read and navigate lead sheets to explore more contemporary styles alongside classical piano study. He encourages steady progress through personalized guidance, new repertoire, and clear practice support each week. Thabie holds both a B.A. in Music and a master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from George Mason University.
