      Performance Experience: Thomas has played in several ensembles throughout DFW, including the award winning NTXV Quintet, several clarinet ensembles, the Scott Clarinet Choir, UNT Wind Studies Ensembles, and the Green Brigade.
      Teaching Experience: Thomas has taught around the metroplex. He began teaching in 2020, where he was an assistant with the 5A All State Clarinet Sectional at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio, Texas. That fall, he spent time working with the Coppell High School Junior Varsity Marching Band. He was concurrently teaching freelance private lessons at the time. He spent the Fall 2021 semester teaching at Nelson Middle School and Independence High School in Frisco ISD as a student teacher.
      Teaching Philosophy: As a music teacher, Thomas' philosophy is that teaching should be flexible, following the needs of the student in order for them to reach their goals. Music is not one-size-fits-all, nor has it ever been, and everyone participates in music for different reasons. Thomas' goal as a teacher is to help nurture my student's love for music as they grow and develop as a musician

      Get to know Thomas Camilo

      Thomas Camilo is a clarinetist from Jacksonville, North Carolina. He began playing the clarinet in 2011. He then moved to Winchester, Virginia where in 2015 he began study with Professor Garrick Zoeter, of Shenandoah University. While studying with Professor Zoeter, Thomas earned positions in the All Virginia Band and Orchestra, Northern Virginia Youth Winds directed by Denny Stokes, and was a finalist in the City of Fairfax Bands Young Artist Competition. Thomas went on to study at the University of North Texas College of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in General, Choral and Instrumental Education. While at UNT, Thomas studied with Professor Deb Fabian. He played in several ensembles, including the award winning NTXV Quintet, several clarinet ensembles, the Scott Clarinet Choir, UNT Wind Studies Ensembles, and the Green Brigade.
