Teaching Philosophy: One-one-one instruction gives me the opportunity to work with each student in the areas that he/she needs the most. I strive to make learning instruments fun and encourage students to practice regularly and meet small goals. I am there as a guide to students: modeling for them, answering questions, and teaching techniques for how to practice. I love the challenge of helping each student as they come to their instrument uniquely, and I hope all of my students grow as musicians and as people.
Get to know Tiffany Smith
Tiffany has been teaching clarinet with Music and Arts since 2010 along with flute since 2016. She teaches from her home in Pickerington and has led many area clarinet sectionals. She has been a member of the Heisey Wind Ensemble in Newark, Ohio for over 10 years and performs regularly with the Wind and Wood Players and with her church, Epiphany Lutheran, in Pickerington. She has also performed in several pit orchestras with Pickerington Community Theatre and various high schools.
Tiffany holds undergraduate degrees from Baldwin-Wallace College in clarinet performance and music therapy and has her master’s degree in clarinet performance from Indiana University. She has taught private lessons for over 20 years and continues to enjoy teaching students of all ages from beginners through advanced players.
