Get to know Tim O'Lena
Tim began playing piano in 1968 but soon switched to Guitar. He has played Guitar ever since then. He has performed in bands since the ’70’s. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering in 1988. He teaches Guitar, Bass, and Music Theory. He has taught in music schools in the northern Virginia area since 2006. He will explore any genre of Guitar with a student. His favorite genres are Rock, Metal and Shred. He favors the electric Guitar but he also teaches acoustic Guitar. He tailors his lessons to the individual while ensuring that the basics and essentials are in place. He thinks it is important for musicians to learn from others and also be able to improvise and create original music. He provides the tools and understanding for guitar players to do both.
