Education: Tina went to Arizona State University on a full clarinet scholarship and obtained a Bachelor’s of Music Education. She was also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, the national Honorary band fraternity for all five years at ASU.
Performance Experience: Tina played extensively in high school and before, but was in the ASU Symphonic Band for 5 years at Arizona State University and has played for musicals such as Guys & Dolls and The Phantom of the Opera.
Teaching Experience: Tina was the assistant director at Jamison middle school in Pearland, TX for 1 year then the head director at Jamison middle school
for 2 years teaching beginning clarinets, saxophones and trumpets.
She was the assistant director at the junior high for 3 years, and the assistant director at Pearland High School for 3 years.
After leaving band directing to raise her son and move back to Arizona, Tina taught private lessons on and off for many years.
Teaching Philosophy: Tina believes it’s her job to help each student be successful from wherever they are currently in their musical journey. Each student has their own unique needs and their own best way to learn. It’s her job to find those needs and best ways to learn and lead that student to their musical success. And she won’t give up until she helps them reach their personal goals and potential.
