Get to know Todd Nystrom
Todd plays several instruments professionally with saxophone
being his primary instrument. In the 1990s he was a top-call recording session
saxophonist in Atlanta, GA. He currently tours with Color Me
Badd, as part of the “I LOVE THE 90s” world
tour. In the 2000s he expanded into song-writing, music production, and video
creation/editing at a professional level. He left Atlanta for Seattle to work
with Microsoft years where he worked shoulder to shoulder with Todor Fay on the genesis of interactive music architecture as
lead compose.. In addition to working with Microsoft, he was contracted as a
composer with Beamz Interactive Inc. where he created and developed a VR music
experience app with that enables anyone to play virtual musical instruments
with no musical experience required. In his 20 years with the company he
risen in the ranks to Owner/Partner and Senior Creative Director of Content,
developing 10+ musical patents in the process.
Todd is currently offering lessons for saxophone, electric bass, jazz studies for any instrument, and music production.
His music production course requires the following:
ESSENTIAL ITEMS::
- A powerful laptop, preferably an Apple, like the MacBook Pro, with a minimum of 16GB memory to host a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Pro Tools or Logic
- Software synths for keyboards, bass and drums, such as NEXUS
- Audio drum samples (loops and one shots) for drums and effects.
- Studio monitor headphones, such as: Sony MDR-7506
NON-ESSENTIAL ITEMS:
- Waves plugins (Renaissance or Platinum bundle)
- Studio monitor speakers
- Keyboard MIDI controller
