Education: Studied Drums with several Philadelphia/South Jersey drummers including Al Ipri, Bill Marconi, Rob Brosh and Latin percussionist Eddie Rosato. Master Classes with Billy Cobham and Danny Seraphine.
Studied Saxophone with Michael Donieo, Norman Wells, Denis DiBlasio, Mike Cemprola, James Rambo. Attended Master Classes by Dave Liebman, Tony Miceli, Larry McKenna.
Studied Jazz Theory with Denis DiBlasio and Tony Miceli.
Performance Experience: Recently played in several bands/venues in Key West Fl including The Ross Brown Band, Tommy Tangie Jazz Group, The Paradise Big Band, Larry Smith Band, Skip Kripitz. Venues include The Key West Theater, The Green Parrot, Blue Heaven, Virgillo's and many more. Also taught and performed jazz improvisation at the Bahama Village Music Program. Jazz on Demand, Smooth Landing Band, Ladies of Rock and Soul,The DG Band, Temple Owls Band and several contemporary Church groups in South Jersey.
Teaching Experience: Over 35 years teaching including Home Studio, assisted DeMasi Middle School Music Director, Hank Mamet with Saxophone and Percussion section.
Music consultant for several contemporary church groups in South Jersey. Bahama Village Jazz group, Key West, Florida. Music and Arts, Marlton from July to October 2021 and currently with Music and Arts
Since July 2022.
Teaching Philosophy: To develop lessons specifically designed for the individual student while concentrating on the basic techniques for each instrument.
Get to know Tom Levecchia
Tom began studying drums and saxophone at 10 years of age and started
performing in a local community band at age 12. In middle school he
joined the Camden Catholic HS summer training band which included
lessons and band performing experience. While attending Camden
Catholic HS he continued lessons on drums and saxophone and played
in Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band and Theater Orchestra.
Tom started teaching sax and drums in his 20’s and continues playing and
teaching professionally today.
