Performance Experience: In 1993, he won third place (1st place in Guitar) in Berklee College of Music’s International Talent Contest, receiving a scholarship and subsequently attending Berklee in 1994. He then worked as a prolific session player and touring musician until late 2004, when he attended the Pennsylvania State University to study Theory and Composition under renowned composer, Paul Barsom. He graduated from Penn State in 2008 with a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Music Education.
Teaching Experience: 30 years private studio guitar instruction, 17 years public school educator
Teaching Philosophy: My approach to guitar study has evolved to best serve the needs, goals, and developments of all students in the studio. I mainly use a hands-on approach to instruction. The student works closely with me in session to design the best overall learning experience tailored to their own abilities and musical goals. Each session focuses on the mechanics and vocabulary required to perform almost any style in the instrument.

Tony has been a guitarist and teacher for almost 40 years. As a practitioner since age 8, he has studied with professional session players in a wide array of styles and techniques.
Presently, Tony is recording a new collection of guitar music and performing at local venues in promotion of the material.
