Get to know Tr McKotch
T.R. McKotch is a highly talented musician and educator who has dedicated himself to
teaching and inspiring future generations of drummers and percussionists. For over 30 years,
T.R. has used his expertise and passion to guide and motivate young people, adults, and
individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in various educational and community
settings. He is currently the percussionist for the renowned reggae band Qwister touring New
York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. He contributed significantly to the establishment of a hand drum
ensemble program at Infinity Visual & Performing Arts, Inc. in Jamestown, NY. Since it’s
inception, this program has allowed countless children to learn and perform traditional drum
arrangements from different cultures. Some notable projects and performance opportunities
include Last Stop Willoughby (featuring members of the 10K Maniacs), Rusted Root, and Keith
Secola the ambassador for Native Americana music. Moreover, T.R. has been an esteemed
member of the music teaching staff at Jamestown Community College since 2005. His
exceptional musical abilities and unwavering dedication to his students make him truly
exceptional as a musician and teacher.
