About Trey Scarborough

Trey Scarborough is a piano, voice, and trumpet teacher who works with beginner to advanced students, creating personalized lessons that reflect each student’s goals, learning style, and musical interests. His instruction spans classical, opera, gospel, R&B, and jazz while incorporating songwriting, recording, and professional audio engineering experience to help students become well-rounded musicians. Trey believes music education builds confidence, character, creativity, and self-expression, fostering a supportive, judgment-free environment where students can explore their unique musical voice. Whether preparing for recitals, auditions, or personal enjoyment, he provides individualized guidance every step of the way. Trey has over 15 years of private teaching experience, studied Music Therapy at East Carolina University, and has worked as a professional music scorer for television productions including The Chi, PBS Kids, Raven's Home, and A Different World.
