Teaching Experience:
On and off teaching experience from 2014 to present. Most of my work has been with teenagers and young adults, however I have also taught beginner trumpet lessons to kids from preschool age to late elementary school. Most students had between a beginner to intermediate level of trumpet playing experience.
Teaching Philosophy:
Teaching is a two way street. My goal in every lesson is to help any student gain knowledge to help them further their understanding of their instrument. To that effect I build off of the student's interests and give them methods and exercises to help achieve their musical goals in a way that is engaging and enjoyable so that practice does not become a chore, but instead a place for exploration and play.

Get to know Tristan
Tristan is a well rounded musician and trumpet player with well over 18 years of musical experience and 14 years of trumpet playing under his belt. Throughout his career, Tristan has been able to work in all kinds of ensembles including Orchestras, Wind Symphonies, Big Bands, Indie Pop, Mariachi, Chamber Ensembles and more. After Successfully graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance, Tristan went on to play aboard some of the most prestigious ships on the ocean as a Musician for Royal Caribbean International. It afforded him the opportunity to play with all sorts of acts including acts flying out from Las Vegas and Nashville. Currently Residing in the DMV area, Tristan is a native and active in the local music scene where he plays in a duo named Simplicity's Sake playing pop/soul music and is actively looking for collaboration with other local artists in addition to paying homage to the tradition of teaching lessons to up and coming young musicians.
