Get to know William Hebert
William Hebert (H-E-B-E-R-T; last name pronounced "A-Bear") is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and moved to the Killeen/Fort Hood area of Texas in 2020. He is currently a General Music Teacher in Killeen ISD, teaching elementary music (Kindergarten - 5th Grade) since 2023. Before teaching, he served as an Active Duty Musician in the United States Army Bands and was stationed with the 1st Cavalry Division Band in Fort Hood, Texas. Mr. Hebert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Trumpet) from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he studied Classical Trumpet with Dr. Timothy Altman, as well as Jazz Trumpet with Dr. Aaron Vandermeer. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, a national music fraternity, and has performed in various music settings including choirs, wind ensembles, small groups, marching bands, and concert bands. Mr. Hebert has a strong passion for music and has been playing the trumpet for 18 years, focusing primarily on the classical style and also having experience with the jazz/commercial style. In his downtime, you can find Mr. Hebert practicing, working out, and spending time with his wife, Lexie, his son, Masai, and his cats.
