About Yiqi

Yiqi Guo is a pianist and composer based in the New York Metropolitan Area with a passion for inspiring students through music. Originally from Asia, he has extensive experience performing and teaching piano to students of all ages and levels. His teaching style emphasizes strong fundamentals, creativity, and a supportive learning environment that nurtures each student’s unique musical voice.

As a performer and composer, Yiqi’s work spans concert music, film scoring, and game audio, giving him a broad artistic perspective that enriches his teaching. His compositions have been performed internationally in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Valencia, Beijing, and Xiamen. Most recently, he performed his solo piano suite SONG Yùn at Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium as part of the New York Artists Guild Competition Winners Recital.

Yiqi holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition, graduating summa cum laude from the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Music in Composition from the Mannes School of Music, where he studied with Lowell Liebermann. In lessons, he combines his professional artistry with patience and enthusiasm, helping students build both technical skills and a lifelong love for music.
