About Zack

Hello fellow music enthusiasts! My name is Zachary Zinser and I am a performing musician and music educator located in Concord, NC, specializing in piano/keyboard, bass guitar, ear training and music theory. I have taught at Butler University, Ball State University, Indiana University, The Ohio State University, and, most recently, Wake Forest University. I earned my PhD in Music Theory from Indiana University in 2020, and I have extensive expertise in group teaching and individual mentorship, in-person and virtual settings, and designing lessons to be practical, engaging, and, most importantly, fun. Across a broad range of musical genres, I have many years of experience inside and outside classroom settings as a versatile pedagogue who enjoys cultivating relationships with students and adapting my approach to best serve each student toward their specific goals.
