Picking your instrument can be a daunting decision, but it's not the end of the world. When I started band 25 years ago, I really wanted to play the saxophone but my band director said that my hands were too small. I was forced to play clarinet for the course of my elementary band career but I was allowed to switch when I got to high school and my knowledge of the clarinet helped me in that transition. So, just because you don't get to play the instrument that you want to, doesn't mean it's the end of the world, and there will be plenty of opportunities in the future for you to switch into the instrument that truly fits you. So don't get discouraged, keep your head up and keep on rocking. You'll get there eventually!
