About Brian Maple

Brian was born and raised in the Burlington Vermont area. He started playing guitar at 6 years old and began playing in bands in middle school. Through high school he played rock and metal and was influenced by bands such as Alice In Chains, Megadeth and Slayer. In his twenties he became interested in progressive rock, especially Dream Theater. Brian worked tirelessly on his technique to play the advanced music of bands in the prog genre. His journey eventually led him to an interest in classical music, jazz fusion and traditional blues and jazz. He studied music at Johnson State College where he earned a degree in Jazz Performance. Brian plays in several local bands of various genres and teaches guitar lessons at Music and Arts in Burlington.
