      Get to know Denny Croy

Bassist Denny Croy recently relocated to Stow, Ohio from California. Denny got his first taste of playing the blues at age 17, when he would go over to legendary T-Bone Walker's house to jam with him in his living room. His professional career began in 1979 touring and recording with Capitol Record artist Moon Martin, who is best known for penning the multi-recorded hit 'Bad Case of Loving You'. Denny would go on to record with such artists as Lou Cristie, Darlene Love, Lesley Gore, Freddy 'Boom Boom' Cannon, Victoria Williams, Micky Dolenz, The Williams Bros, The Foremen, Big Daddy, Lawrence Lebo, Brian Setzer, Keb’ Mo’ and Doug MacLeod.

Denny has appeared on such popular TV shows as The Tonight Show, Mad TV, and The Midnight Special. He has played on several movie soundtracks including Spring Break, One Fine Day, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, and Last Seduction.

In addition to keeping busy over the years as a bassist, Denny has been a private bass instructor. He trained as an educator with legendary ‘Wrecking Crew’ session bassist Carol Kaye and is one of a select few bass instructors that Ms. Kaye recommends on her website.

Denny also served as the exclusive bass teacher at world-famous McCabe’s Guitar Shop School of Music, in Santa Monica, CA, and the Dean of McCabe’s Music School for the past thirty years before leaving it all behind for Music and Arts and beautiful Northeast Ohio!
