Teaching Philosophy: I believe teaching requires a level of love for music and people. The teacher's love for music will allow the proper interpretation of musical concepts and continuous learning for both the student and teacher. Their love for people will encourage the teacher and student down the student's chosen musical path.
Get to know Milton Williams
Born and raised in Hope Mills, NC and began as a bassist through the Cumberland County Public School system. Auditioned and made county, regional and state orchestras throughout middle school and high school. Was accepted to Appalachian State University on scholarship. Participated in multiple ensembles at Appalachian State to include but not limited to Appalachian Symphony Orchestra, Steely Pan Steel Band, Jazz Band and Gospel Choir. Was voted ASU Homecoming King and pledged Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fall ’04. Was a music camp counselor for 8 years and head male counselor for 2 years with the ASU Cannon Music Camp. Returned to Cumberland County Schools teaching 5th-12th grade orchestra in the Westover School District. During that time, began teaching privately at Music & Arts. Continues to perform locally. Married with 3 children.
