      Get to know Adrian Mitchell

      Hello my name is Adrian Mitchell and I am your go to Brass instructor for Music & Arts.  I am currently a instrumental music educator in the Prince Georges County school system and have been teaching for close to 15 years.  A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, I currently have obtained a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, a Master of Music degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and currently working on my Doctor of Education degree from Northcentral University.  I am also the principle trumpet for the DC Strings Orchestra in Washington, DC and I am a freelance musician in the DMV area.  I'm usually the practical jokester at Music & Arts and you can often find me laughing and engaging in fun conversations with the staff and the students.  I am a big band head and I enjoy sharing band stories and encouraging you musicians to utilize this musical tool to spread positivity to whoever may hear you.
