Teaching Philosophy:
I believe anyone can learn anything as long as they put the time and proper techniques to learning.
What I do as an instructor is teach accurate practice techniques and fundamentals for my students to utilize in their own practice time. I also set reasonable goals and expectations for my students to follow. This promotes a challenging, yet achievable environment for my students to succeed in their lessons and outside performances.

Get to know Alex Rivera-Charles
Alexander graduated from Stetson University with a focus on music performance. He specializes in performing avant-garde and modern music and is an advocate for performing new works by living composers. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a national music fraternity, and the national honor society Pi Kappa Lambda. While at Stetson University, he was awarded the Maris Prize for Undergraduate Research following his third-year recital.
Alexander frequently performs with community ensembles in Central Florida and Volusia County; including the Central Florida Sounds of Freedom Band, the Forza Wind Ensemble, Central Florida Winds, and has continually performed at the Florida Bandmaster’s Association conferences with the Southern Winds in Deland, FL.
