About Andrew Dack

Andrew Dack started music lessons when he was five years old and played a variety of styles and instruments throughout grade school. He earned his bachelor's degree in music composition, cum laude, from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2010. He has been a gigging live musician for a variety of bands throughout Hampton Roads, and a professional live sound manager throughout the area. In 2012, he began teaching orchestra for Norfolk Public Schools and currently teaches at Lake Taylor Middle School and Southside STEM Academy at Campostella. He was selected to play in Symphonicity in 2013 and still performs on violin, viola, and double bass. Andrew started his own business, Dack's Music Studio, LLC in 2015, leading and managing youth rock bands, along with teaching private lessons for a variety of musical instruments. Andrew completed his master's in music conducting, cum laude, in 2018 from Old Dominion University. His current band is Crazy X (www.crazyxband.com). Andrew has played keyboard, fiddle, and mandolin in Crazy X since 2019 for audiences throughout Virginia and North Carolina.
