About Annette Harton

I have taught music to students of all ages in the public school system in addition to my earlier experience teaching private lessons in piano and voice.  I absolutely love teaching and helping folks begin their musical journey or hone their skills wherever they find themselves on that journey.  As a teacher it has been such a pleasure to watch students gain confidence as they improve their skills in music.  

Music is an endeavor that can help one express feelings and find comfort in challenging times.  As George Eliot said, “There is no feeling, perhaps, except the extremes of fear and grief, that does not find relief in music...”  To me, this is one of the most valuable gifts music bestows and the more one engages in music, the more it can give the gifts of calm, focus, self expression and even joy.  That is my hope for the students I teach.
