      Get to know Ashley Watkins

A native of Cambridge, Maryland, Ashley Watkins began her musical journey at 10 years old playing in the fourth grade band. As she grew older, music began to be much more purposeful in her life. Her first official one on one flute instruction, was given by a flute teacher at a local music store. In high school, she frequently traveled to areas beyond her eastern shore location to participate in youth programs that helped solidify her music foundation.  Ashley received an undergraduate degree in music performance from James Madison University studying under Dr. Beth Chandler and a graduate degree in music performance from The University of Akron under the tutelage of George Pope.
