Performance Experience: In addition to my years in the opera orchestra and work with the Houston Symphony, I also substituted often in the Houston Ballet Orchestra and was Prnicipal Clarinet for Opera In The Heights. The Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Utah Festival Opera Company. and numerous other organizations.
Teaching Experience: Thirty years of experience.including college level. All-State preparation. and adults getting back into playing the clarinet after many years away from it.
Teaching Philosophy: My approach to teaching is that the student, no matter what age, should have fun. We all learn better if we are enjoying ourselves. And the better we play our instruments the more fun we have. So my goal is to help each student be the best that they can be. and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when their goals are met.
Get to know Carol Stinson
I have been a professional clarinet player my entire adult life. I was fortunate enough to be the Principal Clarinetist of the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra for twenty three years, as well as extensive concerts and recordings with the Houston Symphony before moving to Delaware. My teaching experience ranges from all levels of ages and abilities. I have been an adjunct professor of clarinet at several universities, as well as teaching in public schools and maintaining a home studio,
