Get to know Darick Felter
Darick Felter is a multi-instrument teacher who works with students on percussion, piano, bass guitar, and acoustic or electric guitar, creating lessons that blend structure, creativity, technique, and fun. He teaches beginner to advanced percussion as well as beginner to intermediate piano, bass, and guitar, incorporating improvisation, jazz, composition, songwriting, music theory, and a wide variety of musical styles into his instruction. Darick believes students learn best through active music-making, often playing alongside them and encouraging ensemble experience to build confidence and musicianship. Whether preparing for recitals, auditions, school programs, or simply playing for enjoyment, students receive personalized guidance in a supportive environment. Darick studied Jazz Performance at Old Dominion University, has taught at Music & Arts for over 25 years, and has performed with artists including Elton John, Steely Dan, and The Guess Who.
