Teaching Philosophy:
I believe the study of music is a balance between disciplined study and freeform exploration. I want to give my students the tools to achieve any technical goal they might have with efficiency and grace, while also giving them opportunities to think about what music means to them, why it matters, what they like (or dislike), and how they might go about creating something new that is truly their own. For interested students I like to explore composition, improvisation, and extended technique.
