      Get to know Devontay Thomas

      I started playing and learning fairly late, at the age of 16 and I was completely engrossed and passionate about it since. I didn't have a piano at the time, so during marching band and any downtime I had during school hours I spend learning and figuring out the piano on my own. As I improved I soon chose Musical Performance as a minor to go with my Visual Communications Technical Degree. I delved head first into the arts and joined every known arts club in school; Drama, Chorus, Marching Band, Concert Band, Band Homeroom and Music Theory, along with my VC shop and academics that filled my down time to the point that I was known as a very talented and driven individual associated with arts leading me to be voted as the Artistic Superlative long before Graduation.
          
      After School I heavily got into the community of the arts and eventually returned back to POLYTECH High School to become a Music Tech with the Marching Band's Front Ensemble and Pit and worked with them in the autumn for 8 years. I eventually sought my own teacher to build at this very store in Camden. In between that time I worked as a Stage Hand and Lighting Intern for the Schwartz Center of the Arts before when it was still a public theatre. 

      To summarize, I learned piano at 16 in marching ban in high school, jumped into every art I could in school and became a Musical Assistant and Front Ensemble Tech as well as work in stage production at the Schwartz Center of the Arts. I have been playing Piano for over 13 years.
